I'll share my dishes

The story of Kiffer Maison

The magic of home cooking begins where memories are made.

As a child, my life revolved around the kitchen. The smell of warm bread, the bursts of laughter around the table, and that unique bond between flavours and emotions. Cooking was more than an art: it was a universal language, the language of sharing and love.

When I came to France, that passion followed me. I discovered other culinary traditions, other stories orbiting the table. But at the heart of it all, one simple truth held: “home-made” has a soul, an authenticity nothing can match.

It is this wish to bring cooking enthusiasts together and to share unique moments that gave rise to Kiffer Maison. Here, every dish, every experience, every workshop is an invitation to travel, to savour and to forge bonds.

With Kiffer Maison, I offer you far more than a meal: a culinary adventure rich in sharing, emotion and humanity, so we can enjoy together what really matters.

Home-made

The French “fait maison” label is a regulated mention that recognises dishes prepared on site from raw produce, without industrial or ready-made products. It guarantees consumers that dishes are cooked according to strict criteria, in particular the use of raw produce and preparation at the point of sale. Some exceptions are allowed for products such as cheese or pasta. Intended for professionals (restaurants, caterers, food trucks) and for private individuals wishing to sell their products, the label imposes clear display rules to inform consumers. Professionals may be inspected to verify their compliance. Private individuals must meet the same requirements, particularly regarding transparency and preparation. The label aims to promote authentic, quality cooking while strengthening consumer trust in the establishments that carry it.

Hygiene and safety

Food safety and hygiene are crucial to protecting consumers and guaranteeing the quality of home-made products. Professionals must comply with Regulation (EC) No 852/2004, fit out a compliant kitchen and submit to regular inspections. Private individuals, although allowed to sell occasionally, must maintain strict hygiene, declare their activity and meet similar conditions. To sell home-made products, you must take food hygiene training such as HACCP certification, fit out your kitchen to health standards, declare your activity to the competent authorities and prepare your premises for possible inspections. Certain certifications, such as an operating licence or professional liability insurance, are also required. Organisations such as Business Passion Cuisine and Afpa offer training suited to both private individuals and professionals. By following these steps, it is possible to sell home-made products legally and safely, while inspiring consumer confidence through transparent, rigorous practices.

Questions

Questions we get asked

Is Kiffer Maison a delivery service?

No. Either you eat at the cook's place (Booking), or you collect your order in the slot you chose (Click & Collect). Nobody drives on your behalf — that's what keeps prices fair and food hot when it reaches you.

Do I need an account just to look?

No. You can browse cooks, dishes and slots freely. An account is only asked for when you book or order, because an order has to belong to someone.

How do I know it's legitimate?

Every cook has a public page: their introduction, their dishes, their reviews and their verification status. Registered professionals provide their paperwork (business registration, food hygiene, insurance) and carry a verified badge.

Are allergens listed?

Yes. Every dish lists its allergens across the 14 categories required by EU regulation, along with its ingredients. If in doubt, you can message the cook from the app before ordering.

Can I sell without being a registered business?

You can open your kitchen and publish dishes straight away. The legal paperwork is completed afterwards from your profile: that's what unlocks the verified badge and reassures your future customers.
